About Whitehouse Meats

Whitehouse Meats was started in Windsor, Ontario in 1953. In the early 1970's, the business moved to Toronto and became a fixture of the St. Lawrence Market. In 1990, Leila and Kelly Batten (a long time employee) purchased the business from the Whitehouse family. After the untimely passing of Kelly in 1993, Leila and her family took over the day to day operations.


Leila Batten and her staff continue to offer the same top quality meat and service that has made Whitehouse Meats known as one of the best butcher shops in Toronto.


While always known for its large selection of beef, pork, veal, lamb and chicken, the product line has expanded over the years to include one of the largest selections of game meats and speciality birds available.


Leila's motto is "if you wouldn't sell it to your own mother, don't sell it to my customer." As a result, Whitehouse Meats, St. Lawrence Market, stands behind everything that they sell.


Leila's motivation, to ensure your satisfaction every time you visit the shop, comes from her son Stephen who inspires all of us.
